GGRS - genome reducing and sequencing

1 Introcuction:

Genotyping by genome reducing and sequencing (GGRS) was designed for genome-wide marker discovery and genotyping in an outbred populationwe with a medium sequencing depth (5-20กม/site per individual, on average). The GGRS approach is mainly based on the simple procedure of library preparation and a marker discovery and genotyping pipeline. It is effortless and highly reproducible to reduce the genome complexity to ensure sufficient sequence coverage especially for species with large genomes for our GGRS approach.

We also evaluated the efficiency and accuracy of the GGRS in a large genome pig species (2.8 Gb), for which more than 71,000 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) can be identified from 36 Landrace pigs and 36 Large White pigs.
